Thinking about getting a Bulldog? You won’t regret it!!  As if their adorable face is not enough to make you fall in love, Bulldogs have an amazing temperament and incredible personality.  They are full of energy one minute and then will turn around and lay down for hours on end.

Ever since I was little, I have always wanted a Bulldog.  I think a lot of the influence came from my dad, as Bulldogs are one of his favorite breeds.   Some people would describe them as having a face that “only a mother could love.”  That face is one of my favorite things about the breed.   There is just something so irresistible about an under bite and scrunched up muzzle.

As a self-professed Bulldog fan, when the opportunity came along I couldn’t pass up the chance to adopt one.  That’s when I adopted an Olde English Bulldogge that I named Audie.  When I first met Audie she had a broken femur in her back right leg.  Since she had this injury, I knew adopting her would be a little different from adopting a healthy puppy.  I knew she would have limitations as she healed from surgery.  Even knowing that things may be a little more difficult, I did not hesitate.

The first time I saw her, I immediately fell in love with her.  I thought she would be the perfect fit for me and my family.  At first, I had some concerns about bringing a Bulldog puppy into my home with my 7 year old Chihuahua, Odie.  Odie has always been the only dog in the house.  He is not always happy about the company of other dogs.  For the first few weeks Odie was not very fond of his new, bigger, little sister.  However, once he realized she was there to stay, he learned to develop a tolerance for her.  He even began to get excited about having her around! Since welcoming Audie to the family in August of 2015, Audie and Odie have formed an incredible bond.  She adores her big brother and will go looking for him if he is not close by.  Overall, Audie has been a wonderful addition to our family.  I believe that she helps keep Odie young and lively. Now that I am a bulldog owner, I have found there is so much to discover about the Bulldog breed.  The Olde English Bulldogge is not a breed that you hear of often, and I was not very familiar with them at all.  I wanted to make sure to find out all I could. So I began to research so I would be a knowledgeable owner and give Audie a good home.  While I was searching for information I came across a  website, Bulldog Information.  It is a great place to see all the different types of Bulldogs. If you are thinking of adopting a Bulldog – I know you won’t regret it!
